Although our mind and body are two separate concepts, they complement each other in a variety of ways. When we feel physically relaxed, we are equally feeling no mental stress, our mind and body are one. However, when any tension or negative feeling presents itself, there is usually an innate reason linked to how we are thinking and feeling; our mind and body are out of sync. Therefore, MBM’s purpose is to help others reconnect with their mind and body through hypnotherapy.
My journey with therapy began with me obtaining a BSc degree in Psychology. Towards the end of my degree, I found myself struggling to identify with the therapies I had been taught. However, a person close to me spoke about their recent experience with hypnotherapy and I knew from that point hypnotherapy was the therapy I was searching for.
After a few years of doing my own personal reading and research on hypnotherapy, I started my training to become a hypnotherapist. I could see the personal benefit hypnotherapy can have to many lives. Assisting others in achieving their goals is inspiring to me. I continue to research and develop different forms of hypnotherapy to ensure that my clients receive the correct approach for them.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state that we reach on a daily basis. It occurs when our conscious mind is relaxed and distracted easily. We enter into a hypnotic state when we are doing things that are second nature to us, for example, washing dishes or traveling on a familiar route. Our conscious thoughts are in a daydream like state, which allows our unconscious mind to become more open to communication.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses both hypnosis and the use of positive suggestion to help you change your beliefs in order to achieve your own particular goals. Both your body and mind are connected and can be healed through your unconscious thoughts. Hypnotherapy can support you in your journey to feeling your mind and body as one again.
“Hypnosis is a normal and natural way of knowing your inner self and augmenting it with virtues like self-belief.”
What to expect from your session
Your journey with hypnotherapy starts with a chat about what you want to achieve from the treatment and how I can help you achieve your goals. After going through generic forms, I will review what we have discussed and devise a plan using hypnotherapeutic techniques to help you to make long lasting, positive changes. I will then explain how hypnotherapy and the subconscious mind works, answering any questions you might have. The initial consultation will last approximately 30 minutes.
In subsequent sessions we will begin by discussing any positive changes you have noticed and any concerns you may have. We will then go through hypnosis, allowing your mind and body to be fully relaxed, reaching a state of full relaxation and stepping even closer to your goals. Following hypnosis, we will discuss how you are feeling and if there is anything you noticed or would like to mention prior to our next sessions.
